Designing ING’s outdoor space: how the spark ignited

Spring 2014. Cédric Marchand, at the time still an interior architect at ING's design unit, walked past the Ghent bookstore Paard van Troje. His eye for beauty was caught by the trapezoidal picnic table outside the store. To try and identify its designer, he took a closer look at the piece. The ‘Vonk Table’ stamp was the first step that would lead to an inspiring collaboration.

When Tuinen De Jonghe handled the garden landscaping for AZ Maria Middelares, they asked us to provide benches. We were entrusted to place our benches in the courtyard of the hospital. We believe they blend in naturally there, with the wooden facade in the background, surrounded by sturdy plants.

At Safran, a producer of aircraft engines, employees gather around our FUSE picnic tables for lunch. We were commissioned to install 12 picnic units in the cafeteria and another 4 plus a few bar tables on the terrace of the engineering department.

Wheelchair-friendly outdoor furniture at UZ Gent

Patients rehabilitating in K7 at UZ Gent can now enjoy the fresh air on our FIZZ tables. The furniture has been tested and approved by wheelchair users. Bringing people together is what we're all about!
